At midday on Sunday, Washington emergency services responded.

A man in a US army uniform douses himself with gasoline in front of the representation of Israel.

After filming himself and broadcasting on a social network, calling for freedom for Palestine, explaining that he does not want to be complicit in a genocide, Aaron Bushnell gets angry.

Then collapses.

The police intervention was quick, but the 25-year-old young man, an active member of the US Air Force, originally from San Antonio, Texas, died from his injuries.

This is the first time that a person has died in the United States during an act of activism against the war in Gaza.

There have already been numerous pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the country and several in Washington, at least two of which brought together several thousand people, but without major incident.

A rally, announced before this death, is planned for next Saturday, again in front of the Israeli embassy.

The protest against the war in Gaza and American support for Israel does not weaken.

And Joe Biden is singled out by Muslim Americans or Americans of Palestinian origin.
