David Cameron before the Security Council: Putin behaves like a Nazi (European)

The UN Security Council session witnessed Western condemnations of the Russian attacks on Ukraine as a violation of the United Nations Charter. Western countries also called on Russia to withdraw from Ukrainian territory and end the war.

On the occasion of the second anniversary of the start of the Russian attacks on Ukraine, the Security Council held a session - yesterday, Friday - in which the foreign ministers of France, Britain, and Ukraine, the American delegate to the United Nations, and her Russian counterpart spoke.

French Foreign Minister Stephane Ségornet said, "Russia alone wants war in Ukraine, and it could end the war now if it wanted to, but it prefers not to do so by not withdrawing its soldiers from Ukraine."

As for British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, he attacked Russian President Vladimir Putin and accused him of "invading" a sovereign state in the United Nations, without any legitimate reason or threat from Ukraine. He pointed out that Russia is providing ridiculous justifications for this war.

The British minister added that Putin once said that this was a "war between brothers."

He asked, "What kind of ridiculous logic is this that has caused so many lives lost? Is Russia fulfilling its responsibilities towards international peace and security as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council?"

In turn, the Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, said that Putin "is trying to rewrite history with lies. In this way, he wants to break the resistance of the Ukrainian people and the international community," stressing that this should not be allowed to happen.

Greenfield stated that the international community "must support Ukraine, and if Russia lays down its weapons today, the war in Ukraine will end. There is only one aggressor in this war, and only one side can end the war."

As for Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, he said, "Russia's name has become synonymous with aggression, war crimes and barbarism, and only through collective action can the aggressor be stopped and international peace and security restored."

On the other hand, Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, said that "the West continues to pump weapons to Ukraine," and claimed that the Ukrainian government "lacks independence and is corrupt."

He believed that the European Union was orbiting the United States, continuing its anti-Russian propaganda, and paying a very high financial price.

It is noteworthy that on February 24, 2022, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine, and to end it, it stipulates that Kiev abandons plans to join military entities, which the latter considers an interference in its sovereignty.
