Two years after the start of the war, a thousand Ukrainians settled in Ille-et-Vilaine.

First received by host families or in homes, most have now found a roof over their heads and even a job within the framework of the CIEL protocol (coordination and integration through employment and housing) deployed throughout France as in Brittany.

Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, a thousand Ukrainians have settled in Ille-et-Vilaine.

After being received by host families or in homes, most have now found a roof over their heads and a job thanks to the Coordination and Integration through Employment and Housing (CIEL) protocol.

“We really have willing people, who have positive energy”

Nolwenn Junot is an advisor for the Coallia association in Ille-et-Vilaine.

An association mandated by the State for the integration of Ukrainians in France.

Companies or bosses who have unfilled positions in this Breton department and who wish to integrate Ukrainian people can contact them.

“Today, there are 3,000 people looking for their first job. In all types of sectors. We really have willing people, who have positive energy and are open to training.”

Among these people is Galina.

In Ukraine, she was an engineer, but also passionate about sewing.

Last October, she was hired by Espérance Bretagne, in Rennes.

She now makes high-end clothing.

Her goal is to be “more independent, better integrated in France. That’s why we have to work, and we have to learn the language.”

Work to integrate, but also and above all to no longer have to rely only on help.

In total, 4,000 Ukrainians are settled throughout Brittany.

Half have already stated their intention to settle there permanently.
