The politician wrote about this on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

“I was acquitted on two of the three charges and will appeal the court’s decision on the only charge on which I was unfairly found guilty,” the statement said.

Kurtz emphasized that he is completely confident in his innocence.

He also expressed confidence that the court would acquit him in the second instance.

Earlier, the Vienna Regional Criminal Court found Kurz guilty of giving false testimony before a parliamentary committee.

At the same time, the politician was acquitted of charges of appointing his confidant Thomas Schmid to the board of directors of the state investment holding OeBag.
