This Saturday of crossover between the three school holiday zones should be particularly difficult on the roads, announces Bison Futé.

The day is classified red on Saturday in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and in the direction of departures, towards the mountain ranges, traffic will be "very dense".

Bison Futé predicts a difficult day for road traffic, classified red on Saturday in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, during this weekend of crossover between the three school holiday zones.

“On Saturday all day, particularly intense traffic difficulties are expected on the routes serving winter sports resorts in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region,” warned Bison Futé.

The weekend is marked by a peak in holiday departures and returns which affect the three zones.

Already last week, traffic was very difficult in the region during a school holiday weekend in two zones and against the backdrop of a strike at the SNCF.

The school holidays in zone B (northern and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur regions) begin, zone A begins its second week and the holiday period for zone C, which includes Paris and Île-de-France , ends.

“Very dense” traffic in the direction of departures

In the direction of departures, towards the mountainous areas the traffic will be "very dense" according to Bison Futé, with axes "very congested throughout the day, in particular the A40 and A43 motorways" which respectively connect near Mâcon ( Saône-et-Loire) and from Lyon the highway from the sun to the Alps.

Around 9:30 a.m. according to APRR and bison futé, the A43 between Lyon and Chambéry accumulated more than 40 kilometers of traffic jams towards the Alps.

The disruptions had already started the day before.

“In Île-de-France, traffic will be heavy on the A6 motorway from early in the morning,” Bison Futé also reported.
