A few hours before the opening of the Agricultural Show to the public, many farmers took to the streets of Paris on Friday to demonstrate once again and demand concrete actions.

In the procession, everyone assures us: they are waiting for Emmanuel Macron firmly this Saturday.

Farmers made their entry into Paris with great fanfare this Friday.

A procession organized by the FNSEA and young farmers paraded through the streets of the capital to reach the Agricultural Show in the early evening.

With one objective: to express their discontent again and again, but also to meet Parisians to discuss the agricultural world.

“You have to show yourself well”

So Friday, at 5 p.m., when the procession sets off, everyone wants to be proud to be a farmer.

In the streets of the capital, fourteen tractors pave the way for the hundred or so farmers who enjoy their presence in Paris.

“It’s symbolic. The Agricultural Show is where a lot of things are decided,” explains a farmer at the microphone of Europe 1. Before continuing: “Politicians, we know that they cause and that it's always just bullshit and then there's never any effect. So you have to show yourself well," he continues.

On the sidewalks, around the convoy, Parisians stop and talk with the farmers, as a demonstration of their support for their cause.

“It warms our hearts and we thank them! We have experienced all this since the demonstrations when we were on the highway. Everyone sees this in our actions today,” says a farmer.

Emmanuel Macron's arrival at the Salon eagerly awaited

But what all farmers are waiting for more than all is the visit of Emmanuel Macron for the inauguration of the show.

“We are not preventing the President of the Republic from returning on principle. On the other hand, undoubtedly his appearance in the living room will not take place as usual. People are waiting for him,” concludes Bruno, a farmer from the 'Oise.
