The remains of a woman's body were found this Thursday inside a suitcase that
had been in the weeds in Vigo for months,
as official sources confirmed to Efe.
The National Police is investigating the discovery of that body, which was
found by a man who was walking in the area
and who saw the lump in the middle of an open field, approached it and smelled a strong stench, so, upon verifying that it was a suitcase called the police.
The suitcase appeared around Espedrigada Street,
in the Balaídos area,
and was laminated on the outside, but not in any way, but with a machine like those at airports.
A neighbor has indicated that the suitcase had been in the place where it appeared for months, probably, according to her,
since August.
Regarding the packaging, all hypotheses are open, among them, that someone approached an airfield, packed it and then got rid of it.
The woman's body has been found in an advanced state of decomposition and two avenues of identification
have been opened :
on the one hand, DNA samples have been taken to take to the laboratory, with the aim that this Friday the identity could be discovered, and, On the other hand, a chemical recovery will be undertaken to see if the traces can be recovered.
