Solidarity and neighborhood unity have helped to arrest, this Thursday morning,

one of the two robbers who, at gunpoint

, attacked one of the jewelry stores on Avenida de los Ángeles, in the Madrid town of Getafe.

It all happened after eight thirty.

The jeweler, like every morning, opened the lock of his store and it was just at that moment that

the two criminals took advantage of the opportunity to enter

the interior of the store with the owner.

The couple of thugs dressed in black and wore motorcycle helmets to avoid being recognized.

After forcing the owner, with the aforementioned weapon, to

fill a bag with the jewelry

he had in his shop windows, they hurriedly fled, which made some nearby passers-by suspicious.

The owner's screams quickly caused the closest Getafe residents, almost a dozen,

to start a chase

down Valencia Street, to Avenida de España.

It was in this enclave where one of the criminals was caught, whom they held next to the hood of a white van.

This one, a Colombian born in 1996,

could not escape the neighborhood's efforts.

They held him until, a few minutes later, members of the National Police arrived and

took over and shackled the subject

.

Very close to this arrest, the agents found the weapon from the robbery and, luckily for the owner, who is about to retire,

the bag with the jewelry.

The other thief has fled and, so far, has not been arrested.

As police sources tell this newspaper, a fruit seller, a student, a woman have participated in the persecution...

"The thief took several umbrellas

," the same sources conclude.
