In India, the thousands of farmers at the gates of New Delhi are not taking off

In India, farmers continue to protest in the north of the country to demand the establishment of a minimum purchasing price for crops.

For more than ten days, thousands of them have been installed 200 km from New Delhi, and are trying to advance towards the capital.

Tension rises against the police, while a young demonstrator has just died in these clashes.

The 21-year-old protester died Wednesday of a gunshot wound to the head, after further clashes with the police, 200 km north of New Delhi.

Dozens of others were injured, as well as twelve police officers.

The police continue to block the progress of these thousands of farmers, who seek to go to the capital to demonstrate.

This shooting death, in unclear conditions, has strained relations between the government and farmers' organizations, who have been trying in recent days to find an agreement on their main demand: the establishment of a minimum purchase price for twenty-three harvests, throughout the country.

New Delhi made proposals to secure a certain price of some crops for five years, which was refused.

The farmers therefore attack again, and some even arrive with bulldozers to remove the concrete blocks blocking the road.

And another confederation of farmers is in turn launching a national movement of demonstrations this Friday, with similar demands.
