The G20 foreign ministers' meeting held in Brazil concluded after a series of discussions.

Foreign Minister Kamikawa told reporters that the situation in Ukraine was taken up as a central topic of discussion with Russia also participating, and he acknowledged that the importance of this issue was once again confirmed.

The G20 foreign ministers' meeting was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, over two days, and concluded with discussions on topics such as the international situation and United Nations reform.

At the first day's meeting, Foreign Minister Kamikawa commented on the situation in Ukraine, which will mark two years since the start of Russia's invasion, saying, ``Russia's continued invasion is an outrage that shakes the foundations of G20 cooperation, and it is beyond the law.'' "This is a huge challenge to Japan's rule," he said, strongly condemning the move.

Furthermore, on the final day of the meeting, he argued that the current composition of the United Nations Security Council does not reflect the reality of the international community and called for an expansion of its membership.

After completing the series of events, Minister Kamikawa told reporters, ``With Russia's participation, the situation in Ukraine was addressed head-on, and the importance of this issue was confirmed once again.Japan's position is that it stands with Ukraine. I would like to continue to demonstrate leadership in order to achieve an unwavering and lasting peace."

Regarding the response to the emerging and developing countries of the Global South, he stated, ``They are rapidly increasing their voice, and I would like to continue to actively hold meetings with these countries and frankly exchange opinions on common issues.'' I did.
