The Palestinian Prisoners' Club announced today, Friday, the martyrdom of a Palestinian prisoner from the Gaza Strip in the Israeli Ramla prison, bringing the number of detainees martyred since October 7 to 10.

The club explained that the prisoner who was martyred in the Israeli Ramla prison was arrested after the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, but the club did not provide details about his identity or the date of his arrest.

The Prisoners' Club announced the day before yesterday, Wednesday, the martyrdom of paralyzed prisoner Khaled Al-Shawish, following the deterioration of his health in Israeli occupation prisons.

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) mourned the martyr, and said in a statement that it "holds the Zionist occupation fully responsible for the martyrdom of prisoner Al-Shawish as a result of deliberate medical negligence in the occupation prisons."

Hamas affirmed that "the policy of abuse and medical neglect against prisoners will bring scourges on the occupation, and that resistance is the key to forcing the occupation to release the prisoners soon, God willing."

According to the Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Authority, the prisoner Al-Shawish has been detained since 2007 in Israeli occupation prisons, and has been sentenced to life imprisonment 11 times.

The martyr Al-Shawish is considered one of the most prominent leaders of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah), and he was martyred last Wednesday after his health condition deteriorated in the Israeli Nafha prison, according to what the Israeli Prison Service announced.

The number of martyrs imprisoned in Israeli occupation prisons has risen to 247 since 1967, 10 of whom were martyred after October 7, 2023.

Official and civil Palestinian sources confirm that Israel is abusing Palestinian prisoners in its prisons, and is practicing a policy of “isolation, starvation, and medical neglect” against them, as part of unprecedented retaliatory measures since last October 7.

Coinciding with its devastating war on the Gaza Strip, Israel escalated its operations in the West Bank, which resulted in the death of hundreds of Palestinians and the injury of thousands of others, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The occupation also intensified the arrest of Palestinians in the West Bank, where about 7,120 Palestinians were arrested, according to the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners’ Authority and the Prisoners’ Club.

Reports revealed by Israeli newspapers indicated that the conditions that Palestinian prisoners have been living in since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle are at their worst, and the hidden details that the prisoners are experiencing are greater than what has been revealed about their conditions.
