They are all “good”, they are all “solid”: Donald Trump has announced a list of possible candidates for his election campaign.

There are seven names on the list of “running mates” that Trump presented at an event moderated by Fox News.

The nomination will have to show whether they are all really “good” enough for Trump.

At least with some of them he had had tough mud fights in the primary election campaign in recent months.

These are the following people:

  • Florida Governor

    Ron DeSantis

    ,

  • the biotech entrepreneur

    Vivek Ramaswamy

    ,

  • South Carolina Senator

    Tim Scott

    ,

  • South Dakota Governor

    Kristi Noem

  • and Republican Representative

    Byron Donalds

  • and

    Tulsi Gabbard

    .

  • It is considered certain that Trump will be re-confirmed as the Republican candidate for president.

During the hot phase of the US election campaign in the summer, he will need a “running mate” at his side.

For the Democratic candidate Joe Biden, it is already clear that Kamala Harris will be his partner again.

Harris was already a running mate in 2020 and is currently Vice President in the White House.

It is questionable whether Trump can actually imagine a partnership with DeSantis.

The governor from Florida was one of the fiercest opponents in the primary election campaign, and both insulted each other several times during appearances.

Ramaswamy and Scott were also opponents of Trump in the race for the Republican nomination.

Scott received special praise from Trump at the event.

Trump praised the senator in the audience that he was a “great advocate.”

“He was much better to me than to himself,” said Trump.

During his campaign he hardly talked about himself, "but boy, what does he talk about Trump."

Scott withdrew from the Republican nomination race last year and has been one of Trump's most enthusiastic supporters ever since.

In his first election campaign, which he won against Hillary Clinton in 2016, Trump had Mike Pence at his side as his running mate.

However, after four years in the White House, Pence and Trump had fallen out.
