Koldo García

, advisor to

José Luis Ábalos

when he was Minister of Transport, after an official event in his city in which both were present.

"He told me to be careful because he still had three years left to screw me," said the PSOE councilor.

As Díez explained, García had not liked some words he had pronounced during his speech asking for greater commitment from the central government to his municipality.

Ábalos's 'right hand' later followed him to his vehicle to let him know.

"In a threatening attitude and pointing at me, he reproached me for pointing the finger at the minister and telling me that he deserved respect as Secretary of Organization of the party. I replied that I was the mayor of León, who here represented all the people of León. and that he was not in charge of any party, but rather as mayor of the people of León," he said.

It was at that point when, according to the councilor's testimony, Ábalos' advisor issued his warning.

To which he added: "Koldo portrayed himself. It is difficult to understand that people of this type can be 'right-hands' of someone who wants to have the slightest decency."

According to Díez, García "evidently" spoke on behalf of the minister and the then Secretary of Organization of the PSOE.

"It was recognized that he was practically the one who acted as a filter for the Ministry. It seems that everything you wanted to get from the Ministry had to go through Koldo and, therefore, if Koldo threatened you it was almost a direct threat from the minister himself," the minister stressed. first Leonese mayor.
