The results show that 43% of the respondents have settled in Hong Kong, and nearly 90% of the remaining talents plan to move to Hong Kong within one year.

  The survey shows that 54% of the applicants are employed, mainly in industries such as financial services (31%), innovation and information technology (18%), and commerce (17%), and are engaged in management and professional work.

The rest are planning to find jobs or start businesses.

  The survey also shows that the median monthly employment income of employed "highly talented" talents is about 50,000 yuan; about 25% of the talents have a monthly employment income of 100,000 yuan or more, and about 10% have a monthly employment income of 200,000 yuan. or above, which is significantly higher than the local median monthly employment income of NT$20,000.

  In addition, 16% of the spouses of "highly talented" talents are employed, most of them in high-tech jobs, with a median monthly income of about 30,000 yuan, of which about 10% have a monthly salary of 100,000 yuan or more, and 62% are planning to work in work or start a business in Hong Kong.

  Sun Yuhan, Director of the Labor and Welfare Bureau of the SAR Government, posted on social media that based on the survey data collected on the employment and income of "highly talented" talents arriving in Hong Kong and their spouses, it is estimated that more than 30,000 "highly qualified" talents will have arrived in Hong Kong in 2023. The situation is similar for "talented" talents. It is estimated that the "talented" program can bring an annual direct economic contribution of about 34 billion yuan to Hong Kong, equivalent to about 1.2% of the GDP.

  Sun Yuhan pointed out that in addition to their economic contribution, "highly talented" talents and their spouses are generally relatively young, with more than half of them under the age of 40. In addition, they also bring their young children to settle in Hong Kong, adding a new force to the local labor force and also having a positive impact on Hong Kong.
