Five people, including former Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno of the Liberal Democratic Party, have submitted a request to the House of Representatives Political Ethics Review Committee for an investigation into the issue surrounding a faction's political funding party.

The Liberal Democratic Party is considering holding the event as early as the middle of next week, and the ruling and opposition parties are expected to make adjustments regarding the specific schedule and whether or not it should be made public.

Regarding the House of Representatives Political Ethics Review Committee, the Liberal Democratic Party has asked the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan to include former Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Shioya, who all served as secretary general of the Abe faction, former Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno, former Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Nishimura, former head of the National Assembly Committee on Countermeasures Takagi, and Nikai. It has been reported that a total of five people intend to attend, including former Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Takeda, who served as the group's secretary general.



Five people, including Mr. Matsuno, submitted a written request to Chairman Tanaka on the 22nd, saying they wanted to defend themselves at the review board and fulfill their accountability.



If a review board is held, it will be the first since 2009.



The Liberal Democratic Party is considering holding the event as early as the middle of next week, and has even proposed holding it over two days.



In response, the opposition parties are calling for the review committee, which is normally closed to the public, to be held in public.



In response to the proposals from the five people, the committee is expected to hold a secretariat meeting on the 26th next week, and the ruling and opposition parties are expected to make adjustments such as the specific schedule of the committee and the pros and cons of making it public.
