Israel targets Al-Farouq Mosque and buildings near it in Rafah (Anatolia)

A number of Palestinians were martyred in the Gaza Strip due to the Israeli bombing of residential homes in various neighborhoods, while the "Doctors Without Borders" organization condemned the bombing that targeted its headquarters, despite informing the Israeli army of the exact location of the building that bore the organization's logo.

Al Jazeera's correspondent said that the occupation forces bombed two houses in Nuseirat and Al-Zawaida in the central Gaza Strip at dawn on Thursday, causing the death of 26 Palestinians and the injury of dozens. A number of citizens were also martyred and others wounded in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City (north).

The official Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) reported that 17 citizens were martyred and dozens injured after Israeli aircraft launched raids on a home for the Al-Dalis family, west of the Nuseirat camp.

She added that the victims were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, in the neighboring city of Deir al-Balah (central).

The Israeli occupation forces also blew up several homes in Khan Yunis amid heavy smoke billowing in the city.

The Israeli army targeted two houses in Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip, while Israeli warplanes destroyed Al-Farouq Mosque in the Shaboura camp in central Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip. Al Jazeera’s correspondent said that there were 3 martyrs due to Israeli raids on homes in Rafah.

The correspondent reported that Israeli warplanes launched a raid on Deir al-Balah in the center of the Gaza Strip.

In another development, Wafa reported from medical sources that journalist Ihab Nasrallah and his wife were martyred, while their three children suffered severe burns, as a result of a bombing launched by the Israeli occupation on their house in the Zaytoun neighborhood, in Gaza City.

The Palestinian Agency noted that another number (it did not specify) of citizens of the Al-Brahma neighborhood, south of the city of Rafah, were injured after the Israeli army opened fire on them.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza said that the Israeli occupation committed 9 massacres in the Strip, killing 97 martyrs and 132 injured within 24 hours.

The Ministry explained that the number of victims of the Israeli aggression on Gaza has risen since October 7 to 29,410 martyrs and 69,465 injured.

"Doctors Without Borders" denounces

Yesterday, Doctors Without Borders condemned "in the strongest possible terms" the killing of two members of the family of one of its employees in an Israeli bombing of a building affiliated with it in Gaza.

The organization said - in a statement - that the incident occurred late Tuesday when an Israeli tank opened fire on its headquarters, which houses employees and their families in the Al-Mawasi area on the Gaza coast.

She added, "The attack led to the death of the wife of one of our colleagues, in addition to his daughter-in-law, and the injury of 6 people, including 5 women and children."

The non-governmental organization - which currently coordinates the organization's medical activities in the Gaza Strip - indicated that the building that was targeted clearly bore the organization's logo and that 64 people were sheltering inside it at the time.

The organization's Director-General, Minnie Nicolay, expressed her feeling of "anger and sadness," noting that these killings confirm the grim reality that there is no safe place in Gaza, that promises of safe areas are empty, and disengagement mechanisms cannot be relied upon.

The organization confirmed in its statement that the Israeli forces had been informed "clearly of the exact location" of the "Doctors Without Borders" shelter in the Al-Mawasi area.

The statement added, "This shows once again that Israeli forces do not guarantee the safety of civilians in their military operations and show a complete disregard for human life and a lack of respect for the medical mission."

In contact with Agence France-Presse regarding the incident, the Israeli army said that its forces “fired on a building identified as a building in which terrorist activities were taking place.”

He added, "After the incident, there were reports of the killing of two uninvolved civilians in the area," expressing "regret for any harm caused to civilians" and that he was "doing everything in his power to act in an accurate and correct manner on the battlefield."

Severe food crisis

The daily bombing and the death of dozens of citizens are accompanied by a severe food crisis in the Gaza Strip due to the siege implemented for the fifth month.

The Director of the World Food Program in the Palestinian Territories, Matthew Hollingsworth, said that half a million people in Gaza are on the brink of famine, and he added - in an interview with Al Jazeera - that there is an urgent need for a truce or ceasefire.

For his part, Martin Griffiths, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, said that what is happening in Gaza is unprecedented in its severity, brutality and scope.

Griffiths confirmed - in a statement - that half a million people in the Gaza Strip are on the brink of famine, as they lack the most basic needs of food, water, and health care.
