It was at a meeting with donors to his Democratic Party that Joe Biden made it clear on Wednesday how he feels about Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Biden spoke of “crazy bastard Putin.”

Because of the Kremlin chief, among other things, the world always has to worry about a nuclear conflict, "but the existential threat to humanity is the climate," Biden told a small group of donors.

The US President used the expression “crazy SOB” to insult Putin.

“SOB” is the short form for “son of a bitch,” which in German can be translated as “scumbag.”

Biden has described Putin as a “butcher” and “war criminal” in the past.

After the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny in Russian custody, Biden announced "significant" sanctions against Russia and blamed Putin for Navalny's fate.

The Kremlin has denied involvement in Navalny's death and dismissed Western claims that Putin was responsible as unacceptable.

Biden's penchant for swearing

The 81-year-old Biden is known for swearing frequently in private.

In January 2022, he also called a reporter from the Fox News channel, which is particularly popular with conservatives, a “son of a bitch” when he thought the microphone was turned off.

The expression is quite common in the USA and is considered less vulgar compared to other insults.

Donald Trump, Biden's presumptive opponent in November's presidential election, has expressed his admiration for the Kremlin chief both during his term in the White House (2017-2021) and afterward.

Most recently, Trump also compared himself to Kremlin critic Navalny, who died in a Russian prison camp.

reaction to Trump

The ex-US President constructed alleged parallels to the numerous legal proceedings that he is facing in the USA.

“I don’t know where that comes from,” Biden said on Wednesday in response to Trump’s comparison to Navalny.
