  • Catalonia The Parliament processes a law to unilaterally declare independence despite the fact that lawyers see it as "inadmissible"

  • Congress The PSOE gives itself until March 7 to agree with Junts on Puigdemont's immediate amnesty

The prosecutors of the

Supreme Court

consider that terrorism crimes were committed

in the

Democratic Tsunami case and that the former president of the Generalitat,

Carles Puigdemont,

was a precursor of these violent actions.

This is stated in the report of the Chief Criminal Chamber prosecutor,

Fidel Cadena

, sent to the lieutenant prosecutor of the Supreme Court

María Ángeles Sánchez-Conde

, to which EL MUNDO has had access. In the opinion, a summary of what was agreed by the prosecutors of the High Court in the Meeting that took place on February 6, the prosecutors support the actions of the judge of the National Court

Manuel García Castellón,

who referred the evidence against Puigdemont to the Supreme Court. "We agree with the investigating magistrate that it is the appropriate procedural moment to present the reasoned presentation that concerns us now," explains prosecutor Cadena.

The High Court prosecutors consider that the leader of Junts "was informed from the beginning of the constitution of the organized group animated for the purposes of subversion of the constitutional order and serious destabilization of democratic institutions," in reference to the Tsunami platform.

Likewise, they add that Puigdemont "encouraged them to continue the violent actions that were carried out with his knowledge and consent" and that he had "functional control of the event, absolute leadership, intellectual authorship and assumption of the reins of typical action, in such a way that "he could have avoided the injury to the legal right and the course of iter criminis by withdrawing his charismatic support."

On the other hand, prosecutors detail the evidence in the case against Puigdemont and affirm, among other issues, the conversation he had with businessman

Josep Campmajó

where they referred to Tsunami as a "tool for achieving independence."

For his part, the escaped former president of the Generalitat has reacted to the opinion of the Supreme Court prosecutors by accusing the judiciary of acting "as architects of the rule of law." "They believe that any means is legal to defend Spain," he stated after maintaining that his connection with terrorist activities in the cause of the

Democratic Tsunami

responds to the fact that "the prosecutor gives credibility to information that is delusional and manipulated by the police services" or " who, knowing that it is delusional and manipulated information, uses it for a purely political purpose.
