“Neighbors believe the Russian deserter only stayed in the area for a few days,” El Mundo newspaper reported.
It is noted that no one knew about the man in the supermarket, restaurant or church near the place where his body was found. It is also unknown whether Kuzminov lived there.
Spanish media previously disseminated reports that a body was found in Alicante, presumably that of Maxim Kuzminov, who hijacked a Russian Mi-8 helicopter to Ukraine in 2023. The press does not provide any official confirmation of this information.
The Spanish Civil Guard has also not yet confirmed reports of Kuzminov’s murder.
As the director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, noted, Kuzminov became a moral corpse even when he was planning his crime.
