In response to the issue surrounding the political funding party of a faction of the Liberal Democratic Party, the chairmen of the House of Councilors' Diet Affairs Committee from four opposition parties, including the Constitutional Democratic Party, met and confirmed their intention to call for a political ethics committee to be held in the House of Councilors as well.

On the morning of the 21st, the four opposition parties, the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan, the Japan Restoration Party, the Communist Party of Japan, and the Democratic Party of the People, held a meeting with the Chairman of the House of Councilors' Diet Measures Committee, and asked Liberal Democratic Party members who did not include party income in their political funds balance report to explain why and how to use it. We agreed that it is necessary to convene a political ethics review committee in the House of Councilors to rectify these issues.

All 31 members of the House of Councilors, including former House of Councilors Secretary-General Seko Seko, who were interviewed by the Liberal Democratic Party, and Yasumasa Ohno, a lawmaker who left the Liberal Democratic Party after being indicted for making false statements in violation of the Political Funds Control Act, totaling 32 people. We have confirmed that we will request your attendance.

In order to convene a Political Ethics Review Committee, a motion from at least one-third of the committee members is required, and in the House of Councilors, the four opposition parties account for five members, or one-third of the members.

The four opposition parties decided to submit a request to the Liberal Democratic Party's Nomura, Chairman of the Board of Review, in the afternoon, and the Constitutional Democratic Party's House of Councilors Diet Measures Committee Chairman Saito conveyed this policy to the Liberal Democratic Party's House of Councilors Diet Measures Committee Chairman Ishii.

Ritmin Saito, Chairman of the House of Councilors Committee on Country Relations: ``The opposition parties have created a stage for us.''

Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan's House of Councilors Diet Measures Committee Chairman Saito told reporters, ``Actually, the Liberal Democratic Party should have taken the initiative to hold the event, but since there is no such movement, unfortunately we had the opposition party create the stage. Will he appear? It will be up to the Liberal Democratic Party and the parties involved to decide."

He added, ``If you are going to attend, I would like you to clearly communicate in your own words what the Liberal Democratic Party's investigation has not clarified, such as the specific exchanges regarding the return of funds and how they will be used.'' I need to explain."
