At Arizona State University, many students come from other states, even overseas. In the crowd, Alberto Plantillas is still trying to mobilize for the November 2024 election which will be federal, but also local. “

Above all, we make them understand what the student movement is. But also how to talk to our elected officials. We are going to meet them next Monday to advance texts in favor of student rights or the right to vote

 .”

Difficult to mobilize the youngest

Alberto is an activist within the ASA, an apolitical student association. Elias Alvarez is seeking to collect signatures in favor of Robert Kennedy Junior, the independent candidate. “

Essentially, he is in favor of social programs, like social security, health care for all but without that implying more taxes for people. Rather by targeting big companies so that they pay their share.

On arrival, few signatures, both Alberto and Elias recognized him. In

a likely Biden-Trump duo

, mobilizing the youngest is more of a challenge than ever.
