The Israeli army admitted that 46 soldiers were injured in the battles of the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, which brings the number of its wounded since the beginning of the war on the seventh of last October to more than 3,000, while the Palestinian resistance inflicted more losses on the occupation forces during the past hours.

The announcement of the new toll of occupation losses comes at a time when Israeli Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy said: “We have been fighting for 4 months and the road ahead of us is still long.”

Halevy added that the Israeli army began the war in a difficult and painful way, and moved to the stage of decisiveness through an attack whose results clearly showed in striking the enemy and recovering some of the kidnapped people, as he put it.

Halevy said that army operations change and adapt to the different stages and duration of the war, and that army leaders and soldiers fight battles with determination and resolve and are imbued with the spirit of victory despite the difficult and dangerous circumstances.

Halevy added that Israel is not engaged in a campaign of murder, revenge, or genocide, and that it came to Gaza to triumph and defeat a cruel enemy who deserves a bitter loss, as he put it.

Israeli Army Radio also reported that the army began a military operation last night in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in the northern Gaza Strip, noting that the operation in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood involves two brigades and “is expected to last several weeks.”

Qassam operations

On the other hand, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades - the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) - said that it clashed with the occupation soldiers and killed a soldier from zero distance south of the Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City, and targeted two Merkava tanks with “Al-Yassin 105” shells south of the Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City. .

Al-Qassam explained that it was engaged in fierce battles with the occupation forces in the Al-Taqaddum axis, south of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City, and that it had spotted a number of Israeli aircraft that had come to transport the dead and injured as a result of the clashes.

For its part, the Al-Quds Brigades - the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement - announced the targeting of an occupation force that had barricaded itself in a house in the Western Camp in Khan Yunis.

It said - in a statement - that 6 members of the force targeted by a TPG missile were killed or wounded.

The statement added that the Al-Quds Brigades, in conjunction with the "Omar Al-Qasim Groups," targeted the occupation crowds in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza, with missile attacks.
