China News Service, Beijing, February 20. According to a report by The Times of Israel on the 20th, Gadi Eisenkot, an observer of Israel’s war cabinet and former chief of staff of the Israel Defense Forces, recently wrote to senior officials, saying that the lack of strategic decision-making will “hinder the ” war goals, and warned that “it is increasingly difficult to achieve war goals.”

Eisenkot stated in the letter that Israel has failed to make any effective strategic decisions within three months, which has led to the strategic goal of military operations against the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) to "stagnate."

Eisenkot said Israel's unfulfilled goals include ending the fighting without security threats from the Gaza Strip and increasing the personal security of Israeli citizens. He also listed a series of goals that need to be achieved: reaching an agreement to bring back the remaining hostages before Ramadan in mid-March; preventing the situation in the West Bank from escalating during Ramadan; promoting the replacement of Hamas's rule in the Gaza Strip; overall Under stable conditions, the battle in Gaza has entered the "third phase", which is to carry out targeted raids.

Eisenkot also criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's repeated insistence that Israel will achieve a "total victory" against Hamas. He expressed his belief that all cabinet members are interested in achieving "total victory", but they need to realize that these words are not just for propaganda purposes, but should be carefully considered and clarified through actions.

According to reports, Eisenkot’s son and nephew were killed in fighting in Gaza in December last year. As a member of the National Solidarity Party, Eisenkot's criticism added to growing tensions between the party and the right-wing coalition. (over)
