These recordings, released by the Houthis on Monday, are said to show the alleged shooting down of a US military "MQ-9", better known as a "Reaper" drone, over the Yemeni city of Hodeidah.
And these pictures are intended to show the suspected wreckage of the war equipment. The Pentagon confirmed the crash of a “Reaper” and now wants to determine the reason. If the Houthis actually shot down the drone, it would be the second successful shoot down of a US drone by the Houthi movement since Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7th.

Our armed forces will not hesitate to carry out further military operations against all enemy targets to defend our beloved Yemen and support the Palestinian people. Our armed forces' operations in the Red Sea will not stop until the aggression ends and the blockade of Gaza is lifted."
The Houthis claim that the rocket used in the launch was of their own production. This information cannot be verified. The Houthis have been attacking Western merchant ships in the Red Sea for weeks.
Meanwhile, Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius visited the frigate “Hessen” on the Greek island of Crete. The German naval ship is on its way to the Red Sea to take part in an EU mission to protect merchant ships. On Friday, the Bundestag wants to decide whether the dangerous operation should be given the green light.
