The

Civil Guard

is investigating a 22-year-old woman for the death of a newborn baby whose body was found by the young woman's parents

hidden in a closet

in a home in Palma de Gandía (Valencia). The baby's mother had hidden her pregnancy from her family, leading her to give birth in her own home. Complications from her birth, however, forced her to go to the hospital.

This is confirmed by sources from the Civil Guard, who explain that the young mother

suffered a hemorrhage

during a birth that occurred without healthcare assistance. This incident was what convinced her to end up going to the hospital, where she showed up accompanied by her parents. They, however, were not aware that her daughter had been pregnant for months.

In fact, they were the ones who later found the baby's lifeless body hidden in the back of a closet in the home where they live with their daughter. It is suspected, therefore, that the young woman was able to hide the child's body before raising the alarm to go to the hospital, where doctors confirmed that she had symptoms of having been pregnant and having given birth.

The Gandía Judicial Police Team has already taken charge of the proceedings, as reported by the same sources.
