A 45-year-old Egyptian man was arrested yesterday Monday morning by Municipal Police officers at the Méndez Álvaro South Bus Station in the Madrid district of Arganzuela,

accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old minor who was traveling in the seat. next to her on a long-distance bus that

covered the night journey between Cartagena (Murcia) and the capital.

On the trip to Madrid, the girl, who was traveling alone, approached the driver very nervous and told him that she was being touched by a man she did not know. The driver notified the Police by phone and placed the girl in another seat. T he

agents showed up at the South Station

waiting for the bus to arrive and proceeded to arrest the alleged sexual offender and pay attention to the victim, for whom several family members were also waiting at the scene.

The minor, still very scared, told the agents that the detainee addressed her during the trip with these phrases: "

How pretty you are," "How old are you," "Where are you going" and "Don't be afraid."

Later, according to the minor's story, she began to be touched on her thigh and buttocks. The girl was then when she got up seeking help from the driver who acted, according to the agents, impeccably and discreetly notifying the Police.

The man was arrested and taken by Municipal Police officers to the National Police station in the Arganzuela district for

an alleged crime of sexual assault with the aggravating circumstance that the victim was a minor.
