According to reports, a police officer surnamed Xie from Changshou Police Station of Puli Branch of Nantou County Police Department who was on long leave went hunting with his cousin surnamed Fan in the mountainous area of Gangou Village, Guoxing Township late at night on the 18th. Due to factors such as light, he was misjudged as prey and was shot in the back. He was rushed to the hospital and died. The police brought Fan Nan back for clarification overnight and reported it to the Nantou District Prosecutor's Office for investigation. Forensic personnel went to the scene for inspection on the 19th.
