On Saturday, Democratic Representative in the US House of Representatives Rashida Tlaib called on Democrats in Michigan to vote “noncompliant” in the state’s primary elections on February 27 instead of approving the nomination of President Joe Biden.

The American website "Axios" reported that the invitation of the Palestinian-American representative represents an escalation in the rift between Biden and the more left-wing members of his party over his administration's support for Israel.

The website quoted from a video clip broadcast on social media and published by the “Hear Michigan” campaign, which is a campaign to get Democrats in the state to vote “non-committal,” that Tlaib said, “It is important, not only to demonstrate, but to create a voting bloc.”

“We do not want a country that supports war, bombs and destruction,” Tlaib said. “This is how we can raise our voices. It does not make us more marginalized.”

Muslim Americans in key swing states have reportedly organized a “dump Biden” campaign, and in Michigan, in particular, Biden campaign officials have struggled to the point of brawling with hostile activists.

The website claimed that Biden extended olive branches to his party's pro-Palestinian ranks, including issuing an executive order with sanctions against settlers who practice violence against Palestinians and issuing a directive setting the conditions for military aid to Israel.
