On the air of “Russia 24”, the head of the region said that the crimes of the Ukrainian military are known from the testimonies of those people who are now “in relative safety, in temporary accommodation centers.” These people described what they had to endure, especially in the last days and weeks, when the enemy “became frantic towards the civilian population.”

“Many war crimes against civilians have been recorded. Everything is documented - this is very important for subsequent trials, for the subsequent establishment of responsibility for all these crimes,” RIA Novosti quotes Pushilin.

Now part of the civilian population remains in Avdeevka, the Russian military is taking residents to temporary accommodation centers and providing them with assistance.

On February 17, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to President Vladimir Putin about the capture of Avdeevka. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 1.5 thousand military personnel in the battles for Avdeevka per day.

As the Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized, the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky to abandon Avdievka was issued only a day after the uncontrolled flight of the Armed Forces of Ukraine began.

The defense department also emphasized that the liberation of the city by Russian troops made it possible to move the front line away from Donetsk.
