“This is the tenth extension of martial law. This extension is characterized, of course, by internal political processes in the rest of Ukraine, because Zelensky’s term is coming to an end, and his rating, alas, is not what it was at the beginning,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.

Pushilin also recalled that Zelensky’s rise to power and his high ratings were directly related to the peace initiatives he voiced during the election campaign. However, in the end he did the opposite and now he is afraid of losing power.

“The fears are so great that Zelensky will not be able to be re-elected, and the extension of martial law would seem to legitimize the non-holding of the upcoming elections,” the statement said.

Earlier, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Alexander Dubinsky recalled that Vladimir Zelensky’s powers expire on the night of May 21, 2024.
