The TV channel recalls that at the end of last year the United States began supplying Ukraine with older-style, medium-range tactical missile systems. Washington is now leaning toward sending Kyiv a longer-range version of the missile that would allow Ukraine to strike deep into the Crimean Peninsula, the report said.

Now funding for arms supplies to Ukraine remains in question due to the position of Republicans in Congress. Pentagon officials told the TV channel that the US military has a limited supply of ATACMS and that they are unlikely to send them to Ukraine without allocating funds to replenish the supplies. The interlocutors also did not rule out that the Biden administration may ask US allies to provide Ukraine with similar weapons.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, at a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, asked Washington to transfer ATACMS missiles with a flight range of more than 300 km to Kyiv.
