“A representative of the armed forces stated that our air defense systems were able ... to shoot down an American drone (MQ-9) with a suitable missile that was carrying out hostile missions against our country in the airspace of Hodeidah province,” the statement said.
It is noted that Sari also added that Yemeni forces are ready to continue to use military measures against all hostile targets in defense of Yemen.
Earlier in Yemen, the Ansar Allah movement had already announced that it had shot down an American drone in the sky over the country’s territorial waters.
