Gérald Darmanin requested the withdrawal of the residence permit of an imam from Gard with a view to his expulsion, due to calls to hatred that he allegedly made. In a message posted on

In a first video relayed on social networks, the imam of Bagnols-sur-Cèze, Mahjoub Mahjoubi, describes in particular the "tricolor flag" as a "satanic flag" which has "no value with Allah". It does not specify that it is the French flag.

In a longer version, also broadcast on social networks, he evokes the arrival of "Al-Mahdi" who will unite all Muslims. "He will proclaim himself and then all the governors in all governances will fall. We will no longer have all these tricolor flags which plague us, which hurt our heads, which have no value with Allah, the only "The value they have is a satanic value," he says.

Then he continues: "See all these flags that we have in the matches. (...) They are satanic flags which are worthless.
