Official spokesman for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majed Al-Ansari (Al-Jazeera)

Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid Al-Ansari said - via the X platform - that the recent statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he calls on the State of Qatar to pressure the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) to release the detainees, are nothing but a new attempt by him to procrastinate and prolong the war.

Al-Ansari stressed that Qatar was committed from day one to mediation efforts, ending the crisis and liberating detainees, and said that Netanyahu knows this.

The spokesman added that the humanitarian truce that freed 109 detainees proved that negotiation is the only solution to return them and end the escalation.

Al-Ansari rejected Netanyahu's accusations, which he described as "empty" regarding Qatari efforts in reconstruction and humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in Gaza.

Al-Ansari criticized Netanyahu's portrayal of Qatari efforts as if they were financing Hamas, despite his knowledge that they were being carried out in coordination with Israel and the parties concerned.

He also confirmed that Qatar was continuing with mediation efforts and not paying attention to statements that he said were aimed at escaping the political crises of the Israeli Prime Minister, calling on Netanyahu to focus on negotiations in a way that serves the security of the region and ends the ongoing tragedy of the continuing war.
