The Israeli newspaper "Maariv" quoted sources as saying that Washington had set a condition related to freezing settlement in the West Bank in exchange for supplying Israel with precision-guided munitions.

The Israeli newspaper reported that officials confirmed that there are government plans to disrupt settlement construction in a project between Jerusalem and the Red Sea.

According to sources, the value of the planned military shipment amounts to tens of millions of dollars.

Officials indicated that the munitions supply process is still subject to internal review, and changes may occur to the details before obtaining final approval from Congress.

Washington is preparing to send thousands of bombs to Israel

The American Wall Street Journal reported yesterday, Saturday, that President Joe Biden's administration is preparing to send thousands of bombs and ammunition to Israel with the aim of increasing its military power, in conjunction with Washington's efforts to achieve a temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The newspaper reported that the new shipment of proposed weapons includes “MK-82” bombs, “KMU-572” joint direct attack munitions, which add precision guidance to the bombs, in addition to “FMU-139” bomb fuses.

An official explained that the details of the deal may change before it reaches congressional leaders who must approve it.

At the end of last January, Israeli Channel 12 reported that an American arms shipment including a large number of F-35 and F-15 fighters and Apache helicopters would arrive in Israel.

The channel indicated that this comes within what it described as a huge military deal between Israel and the United States.

Last December, the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth revealed that the United States had sent more than 230 cargo planes and 20 ships loaded with weapons to Israel since the start of the war on Gaza.

Since the start of the Israeli aggression on Gaza on October 7, the United States has established an air bridge to supply large quantities of weapons and military equipment to Israel.

The devastating Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, as of Saturday, resulted in the death of 28,858 Palestinians and the injury of 68,677 others, most of them children and women. This war also caused massive destruction of infrastructure and an “unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe,” according to Palestinian and international reports.
