after finding a minor in the area of ​​the Campus, in the southern bay of Ceuta, who He had just swam in from a nearby beach in the neighboring Moroccan city of

Castillejos,

on the other side of the

Tarajal border.

The minor has confessed to the agents that he had been swimming with another child about whom he has not heard anything since he lost him when he was heading towards the coast of the autonomous city. Civil Guard agents and Red Cross lifeguards have searched the coast that limits the southern area of ​​Ceuta to try to locate the second minor.

More than 40 Moroccan children entered Ceuta irregularly last weekend, despite the bad weather conditions that the

Karlotta

storm left in the Strait of

Gibraltar,

affecting the bays where the breakwaters that separate

Spain

are located. from

Morocco.

People who try to swim around the breakwaters in a few hours, including minors, risk their lives in the difficult task of reaching the beaches of Ceutias.

The rapid action of the rescue services, the Civil Guard, Maritime Rescue and the Red Cross prevents more victims from being counted on the dangerous route along

Europe's southern border.

The services were mobilized despite the adverse prevailing weather with a strong easterly wind and the sea in very poor conditions for navigation.

The joint device made up of two boats searching for the missing minor, have decided

to withdraw after spending two hours searching

the surroundings of the beaches of El

Recinto, Fuente Caballo

and

El Chorrillo

without the minor being able to be located.

According to sources consulted, the search will resume at dawn this Sunday.
