“The embassy calls on Russians permanently residing in Sri Lanka to consider the possibility of returning to their homeland,” the TASS diplomatic mission reported.
The embassy recalled an incident of harassment at the Rainbow Surf Beach Hotel against three Russian tourists by hotel staff, after which a fight occurred.
“This is not the first such complaint about the hotel in question. The consular department of the embassy, in accordance with the law, is taking all possible measures to respond to this incident,” the diplomatic mission added.
Representatives of the travel industry previously told RT which foreign and domestic destinations are popular among Russian travelers on February 23 and March 8.
Travel service analysts also compiled a selection of the most distinctive regions of Russia.
