Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (French)

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel will not accept what he described as international dictates demanding the imposition of the establishment of a Palestinian state unilaterally.

Netanyahu added, in a press conference, that any political settlement with the Palestinians must take place only through direct negotiations between the parties without any preconditions, he said.

He continued, "Such recognition after the October 7 attack would be an unprecedented reward for terrorism, and would prevent any real peace agreement."

Regarding the file of Israeli prisoners detained in the Gaza Strip, Netanyahu said that their release would be through a “military operation and intense negotiations.”

In response to statements by Brazilian President Lula da Silva in which he likened the Israeli government to the regime of Adolf Hitler, Netanyahu said, "The Brazilian president demonized the Jewish state."

The Knesset will vote on Monday on a government resolution rejecting what was described as possible unilateral measures by some countries to recognize a Palestinian state.

Netanyahu's government voted unanimously to reject any step taken by any country to recognize the Palestinian state.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, leaving tens of thousands of civilian casualties, most of them children and women, in addition to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and massive infrastructure destruction.
