Al Jazeera's correspondent in Gaza, Ismail Abu Omar, arrived in Doha to complete treatment after he was targeted by occupation aircraft, after appeals by doctors due to his critical condition.

Reporter Abu Omar arrived in Doha on board a Qatari medical evacuation plane for treatment after his leg was amputated as a result of the Israeli targeting.

During the past few days, doctors at the European Gaza Hospital in Khan Yunis - where he was receiving treatment - warned of complications threatening the life of the Al Jazeera correspondent after he underwent a third surgery on Friday evening.

During the recent operation, doctors performed repairs on the wounds in the left leg, in addition to repairing the tendons in the left ankle.

Our colleague Abu Omar needs specialized medical care, amid fears of infections due to his serious wounds and ruptures in his blood vessels.

Photographer Ahmed Matar - who was injured with Abu Omar - is still in the intensive care room connected to respirators. Doctors describe Matar's health condition as serious as a result of his being hit by shrapnel in the head, after they were targeted by Israeli bombing north of the city of Rafah.
