  • Courts Convicted a Vox councilor in Badajoz for gender violence

The Vox councilor in the Badajoz City Council,

Javier Liso Salesa

, has presented his resignation and has made his council record available to the party after being convicted on Friday in a quick trial for

a crime of threats in the field of violence of genre.

It was the Vox formation itself that announced the resignation of Liso, who will be replaced by the next one on the list, number 4 in the last municipal elections,

María Jesús Salvatierra Gordillo

.

Javier Liso, a lawyer by profession and until now one of the three Vox councilors in the Badajoz City Council, was arrested by the Police after

a complaint filed by his partner.

The head of the Court of Violence against Women 1 of Badajoz imposed 22 days of work for the benefit of the community, a 16-month ban on approaching and communicating with her, and a two-year ban on possessing and carrying weapons.

Liso showed his agreement during the trial. The woman did not report any injuries, but she did accuse him of

constant insults and threats,

in addition to causing her minor injuries.

All the parties with representation in the City Council, including his own party, had asked him to hand over his councilor's certificate after these events became known.

Liso had also been included by Vox in the lists for the Congress of Deputies in the last general elections, in position number 3, but he did not achieve representation.
