  • Drug trafficking The journey of the drug boats: shipyards in Portugal, ships in Castilla-La Mancha and serial numbers erased along the way

  • Interview Rosana Morán, chief anti-drug prosecutor: "It is difficult to pursue drug traffickers in Cádiz due to the collapse of the courts"

The tension and violence continues in the Cádiz town of

Barbate

, where last Friday a drug boat rammed a small Civil Guard boat and caused the death of two agents and injuries to two others. This Friday, around 11:30 p.m., an altercation between people linked to a

drug clan

at the Civil Guard barracks in Barbate left three officers slightly injured.

As reported this Saturday by the Unified Association of Civil Guards of Cádiz (AUGC), the altercation occurred on Friday night in the barracks, where two people went to file a

complaint for assault

.

Shortly afterwards, four other people, who were the alleged aggressors, showed up at the barracks, and a fight broke out between the six. Apparently, the attackers and the attacked would be members of the same drug clan who have been at odds since a seizure a few months ago, reports

Gema Peñalosa

.

The brawl occurred at the gates of the barracks and the people who had gone to report

took refuge inside

the Civil Guard facilities, which closed the doors to prevent the alleged aggressors from entering.

Then, the aggressors began to push the door of the barracks and

kick hard

, with the intention of forcibly accessing the Civil Guard offices and attacking the people who had gone there to report them, according to the AUGC.

The only three civil guards in the Barbate barracks had to confront a group of people who showed a "high state of

excitement and violence

" and tried to knock the door open, the AUCG has indicated.

When the group that was banging on the barracks door left, the guards asked for support from other patrols. But before the

reinforcements

arrived , several people went to the Civil Guard offices and, again, tried to force their way into the barracks. The agents tried to calm them down and, then, told them that they were family of those who were sheltered inside the barracks, who finally gave up filing the complaint and left the place.

When the

support patrols

arrived , they had to go to the municipality's

health center

because the families of the attacked and the aggressors were found there again, both related to drug trafficking clans. The agents tried to keep the situation under control and to prevent the altercations from happening again.

As a result of this fight, three officers were slightly injured and the barracks door suffered damage, which is pending assessment. No

arrests

were made

. The AUCG sources consulted by EL MUNDO have denounced that events like this are the

"day to day"

of the civil guards who work in Barbate. Furthermore, among the agents who work in this Cadiz municipality, there is discomfort due to the "insecurity" they suffer. The group censures the "total absence of the principle of authority" in the area.

The association regrets that the violence in Barbate has not stopped and three agents have been injured just a week after the death of two civil guards when they were run over by a drug boat in the Barbate port.
