He said he would "meet with partners in Germany and France respectively to reach new agreements and participate in the Munich Security Conference." He also said that "Ukraine's new security architecture, as well as new opportunities" will be discussed and that Ukraine is working "to end the war as soon as possible under fair conditions and ensure lasting peace."

  Reuters reported on the 16th that the German government confirmed that it would sign a bilateral agreement with Ukraine on security guarantees and long-term support, but did not disclose further details.

  French "Le Monde" and France 24 TV reported on the 16th that the Elysee Palace, the French presidential palace, announced that the leaders of France and Ukraine would sign a bilateral security agreement. At that time, the leaders of the two countries will also discuss the situation on the front line, assistance to Ukraine, and negotiations for Ukraine's accession to the European Union. France stated that it will fully support Ukraine's accession to the EU.

  Foreign media reported that signing such a bilateral security agreement with Ukraine follows the commitments of the G7. In July 2023, NATO held a summit in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, and did not set a timetable for Ukraine to join NATO. However, the G7 pledged during the summit to provide long-term security support to Ukraine.

  On January 12, 2024, when British Prime Minister Sunak visited Ukraine, he signed a defense and security cooperation agreement with Ukrainian President Zelensky. This is the first bilateral security agreement of its kind. According to the text of the agreement published on the British government website, the agreement is valid for ten years and provides for military assistance to Ukraine, economic assistance, consultation and support in defense management and policy, and assistance in Ukraine's post-war reconstruction.
