After 60 days of being subjected to torture and starvation in the Israeli Negev prison, the occupation released Muhammad Ali Abu Wardan, who was arrested while trying to flee from the north of the Gaza Strip to its south through what Israel called the “safe corridor” and ordered the families of the residents of the north to flee through it.

Abu Wardan tells Al Jazeera Net the details of how he was beaten at the Israeli checkpoint in the “safe passage” after leaving the city of Jabalia to escape the bombing, and how the occupation forces kept him on his knees for 4 days on gravel.

Abu Wardan said that the occupation forces practiced retaliatory behavior in the Negev prison, which they filled with detainees from the Gaza Strip, and they unleashed wild dogs on the prisoners and tortured the elderly with electric batons.

Human rights organizations documented dozens of cases of arrest committed by the occupation forces in the Gaza Strip, especially those who attempted to flee from the north. They also documented that detainees - including women - were subjected to various types of torture.
