The

PSOE of Seville

has been left without a booth at the

April Fair

for not having paid the corresponding fees to the City Council in a timely manner. As the party has recognized through a press release, the payment has been impossible due to the

computer problems

that the digital communications network of the Andalusian PSOE has been registering. And the result has been that the party has been left without an official headquarters at the fairgrounds, thus losing a right acquired after decades of presence at the venue, but which must be renewed every year.

The loss of the booth for reasons beyond the control of its beneficiaries is experienced in the city with real displeasure, since the

waiting list

is long and it takes years (more than 20) to get a space of its own on the premises for individuals or institutions. .

Political parties, unions, companies or citizen associations of all kinds have a booth at the Fair where they receive their members and friends. In the case of the PSOE of Seville, the booth is also used as a meeting place for

councilors and mayors from across the province

and also to receive organic officials who visit the city and are seen at the Fair during the holidays.

According to the statement sent by the PSOE, in the writings presented to the City Council "it has documented the

difficulties suffered in recent months in the

organization's computer system, with continuous attacks on the network, making its servers available to external experts." "to verify the technical problem that it has been suffering and that made it impossible to

pay electronically the fee

for the renewal of the Fair booth on the indicated date."

The PSOE compares what has happened to its networks with the

computer attack

that the Seville City Council recently suffered "which made it impossible to access its web portal and all its applications, paralyzing the telematic operation of the municipal Administration for weeks."

The City Council, however, has excluded the PSOE from the list of beneficiaries, to which the party has responded by announcing that they will appeal the decision through administrative and contentious-administrative channels, "for the

defense of their rights and legitimate interests

." It will also demand precautionary measures, "with support from the legal arguments that support the possibility of making the payment of the fee for the renewal of ownership of the

Fair booth

once the incident that occurred, totally unrelated to the will of the organization, has been proven, as a plausible criterion that does not harm the general interests or the rights of third parties, especially if the peculiar character of the booth in question is taken into account (installed by a political party and with entirely free, public and free access); as well as with good reason in the principles of good faith, legitimate trust, proportionality and effective service to citizens, in a "pro-administered" and non-rigorist interpretation of the applicable regulations".
