The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, has asked to approve the Amnesty Law to "save work for the justice system" and avoid judicial procedures that lead to a pardon.

He said this this Friday during the inauguration of the new section of the B-40 between Olesa de Montserrat and Viladecavalls (Barcelona), together with the Government delegate in Catalonia,

Carlos Prieto

, among others.

Puente has pointed out that "it makes no sense" to carry out a judicial process to end up with a pardon, which is why he has said verbatim that the law is the most necessary and useful solution. He has assured that the Amnesty Law will avoid "a judicial pilgrimage that ends in a pardon" and hopes that responsibility and common sense will prevail to approve the norm. He added that "it is not the Government that should fear" that an agreement will not be reached, but that everyone should fear it, including, in his words, those who have been negotiating behind the citizens' backs, in reference to the PP. .

Regarding the words of the Minister of Social Rights of the Generalitat,

Carles Campuzano

, about the possibility of the Government pardoning the independentists who are left out of the amnesty, Puente does not believe "that it is nonsense" and that the Government's will is to redirect to politics the events that occurred during the sovereignty process.

The

minister

said this Thursday that the Government is "open" to pardon people who are not included in the amnesty law when it is applied by judges.

This Friday, Puente added: "We want to remove the situation from the courts, so that there are no criminal consequences for the people who participated in these events." He recalled that "ending once and for all what that conflict entailed would be great for

Spain

as a whole and for

Catalonia

as well."
