As reported in the joint press service of the St. Petersburg courts, it was established that Shchenkov posted text materials in a number of Telegram channels with calls for the violent overthrow of the government and the President of Russia.

The defendant was sentenced to a fine of 450 thousand rubles. Taking into account the period of his detention, the military court commuted the punishment to 300 thousand rubles.

Earlier it was reported about the arrest in absentia in Moscow of actor Alexei Panin (recognized as a foreign agent) in a similar criminal case. Also in Moscow, the author of the publication “DOXA Magazine”* was arrested in absentia for supporting terrorism.
