The new commander of the Ukrainian army, Oleksandr Sersky, inspected the battle fronts on Wednesday and spoke of a “very complicated” situation, while his forces announced the destruction of a Russian warship off the coast of Crimea, in the latest operation in a series of attacks on the Russian fleet in the Black Sea.

Sersky said via the Telegram application that the Russians continue to increase their efforts, noting that their number exceeds the number of Ukrainian forces.

He added, "We are doing our best to prevent the enemy from advancing on our lands and to maintain our positions," admitting that his forces are facing difficulty in repelling multiple Russian attacks in the east.

Sersky was appointed to his position last week, as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for changes after the failure of the counterattack launched by Ukraine in the summer of 2023.

Sersky, accompanied by Defense Minister Rustam Amirov, went to the Avdiivka and Kubyansk regions, two of the hottest points on the Eastern Front, on his first visit to them after his appointment to the position of Supreme Commander of the Army.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian General Staff announced that the Armed Forces and units of military intelligence were able to destroy the ship "Tsar Kunikov", a large Russian landing ship.

The Ukrainian Military Intelligence Department said that it used Magura V-5 naval drones to strike the ship off the town of Alupka in the Crimean Peninsula, creating “dangerous holes” in it that led to the ship “starting to sink,” and published what it said was a video recording of the operation on platforms. Social Media.

The administration stated that this ship is capable of accommodating 87 crew members, and that it was recently used during Russian operations in Syria and during the war in Georgia in 2008.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on this news, and the Russian Ministry of Defense did not comment on it, but it said that it shot down 6 Ukrainian drones over the waters of the Black Sea.

On the other hand, NATO shed light on the Ukrainian attacks in the Black Sea, seeing that they inflicted “heavy losses” on the Russian fleet, describing this as a “great success” for the Kiev forces.

On the other hand, the Russian army continues its strikes on Ukrainian towns close to the front, as the Ukrainian Public Prosecution announced the killing of 3 people, a woman, her son, and a pregnant woman, in a bombing that hit a hospital in the city of Seledovye, near Donetsk, on Tuesday night.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday that Ukraine suffered losses of about 1,010 soldiers yesterday, while Russian forces improved their positions on the Kryny-Liman, Donetsk and southern Donetsk axes.
