Smoke rises after an Israeli bombing targeted a town in southern Lebanon (French)

Today, Thursday, the Lebanese Hezbollah mourned 3 of its members who were killed in the Israeli bombing that targeted the Nabatieh district in southern Lebanon yesterday, while the Israeli army announced that it had killed a main commander of the Radwan force, his deputy, and another member of the party, amid continued mutual bombardment on the border.

Hezbollah said that Ali Muhammad Al-Debs from the town of Balat in southern Lebanon, Hassan Ibrahim Issa from the town of Houmin Al-Tahta, and Hussein Ahmed Aqeel from the town of Al-Jabain in the south were martyred yesterday, without adding further details.

Thus, the number of Hezbollah deaths since the start of the border exchange of fire on October 8th rose to 198.

For its part, the Israeli army reported that it killed yesterday the main commander of the Radwan Force, Muhammad Al-Debs, and his deputy, Hassan Ibrahim Issa, saying that Al-Debs led, planned and carried out many attacks against Israel, especially during the war.

The Israeli army added that Al-Debs was one of the masterminds of the attack on the Megiddo Junction last March, when a person infiltrated from Lebanon and planted an explosive device before he was killed by gunfire during a chase.

"There is no interest in war"

On a related level, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said - during a military training simulating a large war in the north - that the army had escalated one degree out of 10 that it had with Hezbollah.

Gallant threatened that the planes now flying in the skies of Lebanon were carrying heavier bombs to more distant targets, adding that Israel had no interest in waging a war with Hezbollah. However, he stressed the need for Israel to prepare for such a possibility.

Gallant stressed that Israel would pay a heavy price if a war broke out with Hezbollah, threatening that the price of the war would be disastrous for Lebanon and Hezbollah.

The bombing continues

Meanwhile, mutual bombardment continues across the Lebanese-Israeli border, and Hezbollah announced that it targeted the Al-Samaqa military site and the spy equipment at the Al-Marj site, hitting them both directly.

The party also announced that it targeted the Zibdin barracks in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms with a Falaq missile and spy equipment at the Al-Raheb site and the Ruwaisat Al-Alam site.

For its part, the Lebanese News Agency said that the Israeli artillery shelling targeted the outskirts of the towns of “Alma al-Shaab,” “Al-Dhahira,” “Aita al-Shaab,” “Blida,” and “Hula” in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority confirmed that an anti-tank missile fired from Lebanon had landed on the Ghajar border settlement, adding that the Israeli army responded with artillery shelling.

war crimes

For its part, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) confirmed that the attacks targeting civilians constitute violations of international law and war crimes, the day after the killing of 7 civilians, including children, in an Israeli raid on a residential building in southern Lebanon yesterday, Wednesday.

UNIFIL expressed its concern that the Israeli bombing targeted areas far from the Blue Line (dividing Lebanon and Israel).

It stressed that its forces continue to work fully with the parties to ease tensions despite the challenges facing those forces.

About 250 people, including 3 journalists, were killed in the ongoing Israeli military attacks on southern Lebanon since October 8, amid widespread targeting of Lebanese civilians.
