“The Missile Defense Agency and Space Development Agency announced the upcoming launch of six satellites into Earth orbit,” the statement said.
According to the department, two satellites will be equipped with devices that track hypersonic and ballistic missiles, and four others will become part of a fighter tracking system.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian side continues to improve hypersonic strike systems.
Also, the director of the Department of Nonproliferation and Arms Control of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vladimir Ermakov, said that the United States is unsuccessfully trying to catch up with Russia in the creation of hypersonic weapons.
