Today, Thursday, the US Central Command announced that its aircraft carried out 4 strikes yesterday against 7 anti-ship missiles and 3 drones in Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen.

In a statement, the US command said that the missiles that were targeted were prepared to target ships in the Red Sea.

She added that last month, American forces stopped a ship in the Arabian Sea that was carrying a shipment of advanced Iranian weapons on its way to the Houthis, and confiscated it.

Media outlets affiliated with the Houthi group said that what they described as the American-British aggression targeted, with two air strikes - yesterday - the Al-Jah area in the Bayt Al-Faqih District, south of Hodeidah (western Yemen).

Sources also reported that a raid occurred on the Ras Issa area in Al-Salif District in Hodeidah as well.

About a month ago, the United States and Britain - with the support of other countries, within the "Guardian of Prosperity" coalition that was recently formed to protect navigation in the Red Sea - launched raids on Houthi sites in several Yemeni governorates in response to their repeated targeting of cargo ships.

The Houthis say that they only target cargo ships linked to Israel in support of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, but they recently expanded the scope of their operations to include American warships off the coast of Yemen, in response to the raids carried out by the American-British coalition.

While the United States states that it is not at war with the Houthis, it says that military operations against them aim to weaken their ability to undermine freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.

International shipping companies were forced to stop the transit of their ships in the Red Sea, the most recent of which was Star Bulk, which is based in Greece.
